‘Brixton: Lessons in liberation’ (2025) short film, follows a summer’s days walk I took through Brixton, South London in June, 2025. The film explores the area’s history, its political struggles and celebrates the community’s fortitude and spirit in the face of state violence and structural injustice. The film demonstrates how Brixton has been at the epicentre of numerous liberation struggles, not just in the U.K but on a global level. It honours the many generations within the community who have fought for justice and those who are continuing to do so.
